For those of you following our Kickstarter campaign, we did not reach our goal Saturday night. But the amount of support we still received was overwhelming. And we remain incredibly appreciative and grateful for your belief in us. That said, the show must go on! So stay tuned on new developments. :) THANK YOU!!!

Let’s try to get #ATWFilm trending on Twitter this week

May 14

Thank you all for your continued support of “After the Wedding!”

With only 12 days left on our campaign, and only 23% funded, it looks like we may not reach our fundraising goal. But we’re not going down without a fight.

So this week, we would like to ask for your help…

Can you help us get #ATWFilm trending on Twitter this week?

We feel very blessed to have received support from our friends and family so far, but if our campaign is to reach its goal next Saturday (5/26) then we really need to get the support of two very important communities – Female Bloggers and the Latino Community.

As female bloggers ourselves (http://dreamingofpalmtrees.blogspot.com), we are hoping the female blogging community will show their support, this week, of a feature film dramedy about the first year of marriage. Not only is it a unique love story, but it’s being produced and directed by women – Go Girl Power!

The next group we would really like to reach is the Latino Community. Being of Guatemalan-descent ourselves, it is important for us to introduce more minority roles, which is why our film consists primarily of a Latino cast. While minorities have made excellent strides in the entertainment industry, we still only make up a relatively small percent in front of and behind the camera.

Below are lists of prominent members of the Female Blogging community, and the Latino community. Please let them know about this film. We can’t do this alone. By reaching out to them, as a community (and by talking about #ATWFilm amongst ourselves), let’s see if we can get #ATWFilm trending on Twitter this week. And don’t forget, along with our hashtag please include our Kickstarter link. Either  http://kck.st/HPRSfW or  www.aftertheweddingkickstarter.com. Thank you so much for your help!

Interacting with any of these individuals, and mentioning #ATWFilm with our link, will help bring great awareness to “After the Wedding.”

EXAMPLE TWEETS:

Something important to also keep in mind when tweeting is to be sure to mention this is a campaign to MAKE a movie - not to support one that’s already been completed. That way people aren’t disappointed when they click on our Kickstarter link.

So you could say something like: @EvaLongoria Check out #ATWFilm, an indie being made by Latinas and crowdfunded by the community, great project http://kck.st/HPRSfW

Here are a couple more great examples on how you can tweet about “After the Wedding.”

Meet the Cast: Nick Puga “Diego Diaz”

Where were you born and raised?

I’m a Venezuelan born Chilean who was raised in Miami. Wait, no, yeah, that’s right.

How did you get involved with “After the Wedding”?
Claudia hit me up on the “face” and was all “Yo, you wanna audish for my indie masterpiece?” and I was all “Fo sheezy, my ‘tina.” And then she was all “Then go put yourself on tape and show me some skills, papo.” And then I was all “OK, OK! CALMÁTION, por favor! Let me read it!” Read it, loved it, sent in my tape and won the part.

As an actor, how do you prepare for a role?
Same way I make breakfast. I get my veggies out, chop ‘em up, put ‘em on low heat, add some pepper, put in the egg whites, toast some whole wheat bread, bring out a little bit of fruit and wash it all down with a tall glass of water.

Why should people support “After the Wedding”?
Regret of not supporting may eat you up inside for years to come. Also, my nipples will be showcased for the first time. Holla!

What are you looking forward to most about making this movie in July?
Getting my hands on some world-famous, mouth-watering, Miriam cooked empanadas (featured in the Empanada Delight Package). Duh.

Game Day: Three on Thursdays!

May 10

We want to play a little game today called Three on Thursdays! We would like to ask you, our wonderful supporters, if you could each get three people you know to pledge at least $10 today to “After the Wedding.”

If 200 people participated X 3 people = we can raise $6,000 today, if everyone pledges at least $10! Yep. It’s THAT simple.

That would get us to at least $22,335 by midnight!

What do you say? Can everyone send the following to three individuals you think would like to participate?

Here’s a copy + paste you can use:

“Hey ____________! I’m a supporter of this great project on Kickstarter called “After the Wedding,” a great dramedy about the first year of marriage. I would like to get 3 people to pledge today as they’re falling behind on their goal, and it really is a great project. Check it out here: www.aftertheweddingkickstarter.com. You would just need to pledge at least $10 by midnight tonight, and in return you get a fun reward. And once you’ve pledged feel free to pass it on! Thanks!”

Okay guys, we’re only 21% funded and have 16 days to go! We’re entering a storm, but TOGETHER – we can steer this in a new direction. :)

Thanks SO MUCH everyone!
Clear skies up ahead,
The Cifuentes Sisters and the cast and crew of “After the Wedding”
